I was wondering if you'll accept a question....you say this is mixed media and gouache....does that mean that you're painting/coloring [whatever] with more than just the gouache? Because as I look at this and even your other amazing works, I wonder [regardless of whether you do or not], would colored pencil work to mix with gouache for such an effect? Because It seems like if the two were applied together that they might be able to create something so fine detailed. I only say that because I'm a colored pencil artist and am always looking for the best ways to achieve realism even if it means mixing media. Thanks in advance if you take the time to answer.
Actually the mixed media is gouache and airbrush.
I use only about 5% of airbrushing and the rest is all brush work.
Even with the airbrush I still use gouache to fill in the cup.
Wow....airbrush huh? No wonder it looks the way it does. Your brushwork is so immaculate. Makes me wish I had those tools on hand to have a go at it and see what happens.
